This project was a somewhat complex project to which Paynter Dixon Queensland completed with enormous communication between the Superindendent, the client and sub-contractors. Paynter Dixon constructed a new Resource Centre, Science Laboratory and Multipurpose Hall during the “Building the Evolution” funded projects. The multi-purpose hall has a concrete slab, RHS galvanised steel portal frame, with 190mm thick core-filled block work to the perimeter walls, founded on screw piles which bridged the load across an existing council trunk sewer main. The facility also included an enclosed/unenclosed area of 425m2 and 69m2 respectively. The project was constructed on a low lying area that required substantial earth works and foundations to which PDQ completed without issue.
