Glenmore State High School’s Mike Maher Centre needed to be rebuilt after being maliciously burnt to the ground. The Centre was designed and built as a multi-purpose hall to facilitate all school activities and sports. Its bright, modern, external appearance conveys an active, inviting and fun hall for all participants. The concrete slab and structural steel portal frame provides the structure for a huge, impressive multi-purpose sporting area. The flooring is marked with bright and clear line markings that allow for numerous different sports to be played in the one area. The hall also incorporates a functional, modern staff room, clean and spacious kitchen, toilet and shower areas, and includes storage space as well as a raised stage for concerts and performances. This new facility is definitely a silver lining to what was a dark cloud at Glenmore State High School.
